"...He looked forward to each and every interview with you and would often call soon after to recount what you'd discussed. He couldn't believe how interested you were in him and his life."
OW IT WORKS Interviews: Kathy's role goes beyond that of a standard ghostwriter. As interviewer, she will evoke the anecdotes and sensory details that capture the truth of your life and give it a sense of time and place. The process consists of a series of conversational interviews of approximately an hour each, during which she types (rapidly!) on her laptop.
Writing: As your personal biographer, between sessions, Kathy weaves the interviews into a coherent story, and together, you and she review and revise the manuscript as you go along. She writes your book as an autobiography, in your "voice," using your figures of speech.
Photos: Kathy will help you select photographs and documents that help tell the story.
Genealogy: Kathy’s father, Richard Miller, can research your family genealogy, if you wish.
Production: When the writing is finished, the story goes to a book designer for layout, then to the printer, and finally to the book binder. The result is a lavishly illustrated, heirloom quality book that pulls together the events, insights, relationships, sorrows, and joys of your life. A variety of bindings are available, from paperback to leather, and you can order as many copies of each binding as you wish.
Books can vary in length from under a hundred pages to several hundred pages, and the process can take anywhere from six or nine months to well over a year, from start to finish.
Free consultation: Please contact Kathy at 314-740-8859 to discuss your project. If you wish, you may set up an initial consultation at your convenience, no charge. Kathy lives and works in the St. Louis area, but from time to time has written for out-of-town clients, using travel, telephone, and/or correspondence in order to to work with her clients.
